In Evenkia the ethnic camps for children have finished their work, organized by Okrug Administration aimed to save the original culture and traditions of the people of Evenkia. This summer on the territory of the Okrug six ethno-ecological camps were working, where 273 kids from national villages had rest during the season.

While in the camp, the children got the skills of traditional economy, learned how to make things for the house from fell, birch bark and wood. Besides, during their rest children got acquainted with the literature of indigenous peoples of the North, folklore, the history of foundation of “stoibishe” (nomadic people’s camps), materials on the history and nature of the region.
Evenki camps have worked on the territory for five years already. For this period about one thousand little Evenkis have had the possibility to spend their summer holidays in the conditions very close to life of forest people in traditional Evenki stoibishes.
